Turtles All The Way Down

John Green

Review:

This was good. But it made me super anxious. The main character was dealing with some serious anxiety issues (which I don't remotely have), but it still triggered my own. The amount of stress that was jam-packed into this book was intense. Especially because the Story kinda centers around that. Interestingly, I felt like there was a lot going on but also so little. There was a literal missing persons case solved, and there was a car accident, and there were so many arguments. It was this mix of real life and mystery with Love thrown in there as well. In other words, it was intensely early 2000s YA. Like so much! It felt like Everything Everything and some of the other Nicola Yoon books but also had a unique John Green feel. So it was really good! But also so stressful.

Synopsis From Book:

Aza Holmes never intended to pursue the disappearance of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a hundred-thousand-dollar reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Pickett’s son Davis. Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.
