Review:

This was a lot more violent than I thought it would be. I thought it would be a fun con book, but the trauma and challenges she faces are not anything like that. The story was fascinating, and I am compelled to learn more about her story. I thought the way it was written could be confusing at times, but it was also a very interesting way to tell the story from multiple perspectives. As much as I love con movies, it is super cool to see them in more real light and in a way that accurately represents what happens in real life. I like her relationship with Wes, but I absolutely love Iris. I think the way it is presented is a very nice touch. I wish there were a little more “I bested you” moments, but I also understand that this is more based on trauma than an action movie. I hope that next month's book club book is a little less violent because the last two have both been based on violence and trauma. The cover is absolutely amazing, and I can not get over the little clues on the back of the book that ties into different parts. This was a great book and I can’t wait to talk about it in book club.
