Review:

I liked this book so much better the second time. It was a very interesting read and I took a very different approach to reading the book this time. I looked at it in comparison to modern romance novels and it really made me realize how much this book has set the stage for every romance novel thereafter. I really like Mr. Darcy and I think he was cast wrong in the new movie. I do not love Elizabeth for some reason but I think she is an ok character. There are definitely some holes but to think this book is a classic for good reason. I know this is a short review but my eyes literally won’t stay open so I’m gonna go to bed. Amazing novel and I will definitely read more Jane Austen.

Synopsis From Book:

Since its immediate success in 1813, Pride and Prejudice has remained one of the most popular novels in the English language. Jane Austen called this brilliant work "her own darling child" and its vivacious heroine, Elizabeth Bennet, "as delightful a creature as ever appeared in print." The romantic clash between the opinionated Elizabeth and her proud beau, Mr. Darcy, is a splendid performance of civilized sparring. And Jane Austen's radiant wit sparkles as her characters dance a delicate quadrille of flirtation and intrigue, making this book the most superb comedy of manners of Regency England.
