Review:

I don’t really think this book was really helpful. It was ok, but it could have been much shorter. I got so bored through most of it that I didn’t even register for some of the books. I think the tips with be helpful to keep and use, but some of the chapters were only really old or obscure examples. I understand why we had to read this, but it was soooo boring.

Synopsis From Book:

What does it mean when a fictional hero takes a journey? Shares a meal? Gets drenched in a sudden rain shower? Often, there is much more going on in a novel or poem than is readily visible on the surface – a symbol, maybe, that remains elusive, or an unexpected twist on a character – and there's that sneaking suspicion that the deeper meaning of a literary text keeps escaping you.
