Review:

This book was really weird! I was totally not expecting that whole monster thing, and it was slightly unsettling to read because of that. I feel like this book is kind of a very dark version of Miraculous Ladybug with the way the god-like character is used. Throughout the book, I became more and more engaged! I was originally gonna give this a three, but it definitely got better as I went through it. The concept is really interesting, and I like how it plays with the definition of evil. I most likely will read the second one, but I’m not sure. It wasn’t as good as I expected, but it was still good!

Trigger Warnings:
Death (obviously), Blood, Violence

Synopsis From Book:

Light Yagami is an ace student with great prospects—and he’s bored out of his mind. But all that changes when he finds the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a rogue Shinigami death god. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies, and now Light has vowed to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of evil. Will Light’s noble goal succeed, or will the Death Note turn him into the very thing he fights against?
