Review:

Ok… this was actually kinda cute. The main character is growing on me (even though I said he wouldn’t) I also really love the girl and how the little sister and best friend come into it. I’m gonna try to convince Mrs. Alexander to get the next book in the series for the library. So far, it is very good, and I like all the drama. I feel like the plot has made some good progress, and the characters have definitely developed. I am finding it much harder to read this boom than orange in the way it is set up, so I think this is much closer to a manga than a graphic novel which in some cases can become a problem. This is a great book, and I can’t wait to read the next one.

Trigger Warnings:
A suicide attempt; Bullying; Fighting; The idea of suicide is largely prevalent in the series

Synopsis From Book:

It’s been five years since Shoya Ishida bullied Shoko Nishimiya so badly she left their elementary school, because of one simple difference between them: Shoya can hear, and Shoko can’t. In the intervening time, Shoya’s life has changed completely. Shunned by his friends, Shoya’s longed for the chance to make up for his cruelty. When it finally comes, will he find the voice to tell Shoko he’s changed? And will Shoko listen?
